CID questions film director Badal

The CID is
likely to take some more time to complete its investigation into the death of popular
filmstar Salman Shah. "Nothing can be said on the basis of autopsy reports
only," said a senior CID official yesterday.
Although a medical board found "nothing
new other than suicide," CID investigators said they will have to "check and
cross-check many things as it is a very complicated and sensitive case." The medical
board formed to re-examine the two autopsy reports and viscera tests of Salman's body
submitted its report to the CID Tuesday. Meanwhile, the CID interrogated Badal Khandawker,
a film director, yesterday but declined to disclose anything. Sources said the film
director had accompanied Salman and his wife Samira from FDC to their Eskaton apartment
the night before the filmstar was found dead there in September last year. Salman, his
wife Samira and Badal had travelled in the same car that night. On the day Salman was
found dead, Badal reportedly came to Salman's apartment in the afternoon to talk to him
regarding signing of an agreement for a Bengali film. Salman was scheduled to sign the
agreement at Sonargaon Hotel on that day. Meanwhile, it was learnt yesterday that the CID
asked Samira to report to the investigation team. But it could not be confirmed from the
CID. The CID may also interrogate some policemen of at Cantonment thana to investigate the
'trespass case' filed by Salman's parents recently. Meanwhile, Salman's mother Nila
Chowdhury in a fax message last night said she has rejected the re-examination report of
the medical board. |
