Popi allegation: reporting of an eye witness |

 Shakil and
Popy starred in many films and some of them hit the
"box office". But the relation between the two still remains mysterious as
Shakil claimed that he got married Popy on April 6, a claim denied by Popy. Police records showed that popular heroine Popy filed
the case on 4 August 2000, Friday midnight against Shakil accusing him of kidnapping
and abusing her while Shakil lodged the case against Popy's mother and cousin earlier on
Wednesday.Sources close to Shakil said Popy convinced police to arrest him
promptly as she feared that Shakil would disclose their marriage.
They said Shakil and Popy went to Cox's Bazar on
April 4 and stayed there overnight. They went to the residence of Shakil in Chittagong the
following day to meet Shakil's family members. On the same day, they left Chittagong for
Comilla and stayed in a residence of Shakil's friend.
