Faruk Mahfuz Anam, popularly known as James is the name of biggest rock sensation of Bangladesh. He is a singer, Guitarist and composer. With his signature style of singing and strong voice, he became an iconic character of Bangla music in the 90s and now gaining international fame. He was a member of the band feelings and later he formed the band Nagarbaul, which can be translated as Urban Bard, is the pioneer of Psychedelic Rock in Bangladesh. With his trademark black panjabi and jeans and long hair, James is affectionately called Guru by his innumerable followers.

James was born and brought up in Chittagong and later moved to Dhaka for his singing career. He is greatly respected his solo projects, where he experimented with different genres of music including Rock, Blues and Folk. Now James is becoming popular internationally as he worked as play back singer for a few Bollywood films, and all the songs were big success. He is going to release an album from Mumbai as well.
