Rumana Rashid Ishita, popularly known as just “Ishita”, is
one of the leading actresses on the TV media. She started off at a very early
age and won the hearts of many, demonstrating her advanced theatrical skills as
a lovable child, working as a domestic help, 'Falani' at the National
Competition Natun Kuri in 1988. The then President was seen in tears on
national TV, as Falani described abuse at the hands of her employers. That
single performance was enough to make her a star and a household name as well.
Ishita is not only an actress; she is also a trained singer
and dancer. But obviously acting remained as her main concern and she earned
most recognition as an actress.
She appeared in a huge number of TV dramas and serials. Now
she is not that much frequent in the media as an actress. Rather, being a
business graduate, she is working as the marketing executive in Channel i. She
is also trying her hands at writing and direction recently. Nirjon Arannya-e
and Swaopno Swopnil- two single episode play directed by Eshita have been aired
lately.
She got married a couple of years ago. Now she is balancing
her working and personal life. She wants to concentrate more on direction and
writing.
