গানকে আরো ভালো করে জানার আকাঙ্খায় নাজু ২০০৪ সাল থেকে
তালিম নেয় শুরু করেন ওস্তাদ সঞ্জীব দে'র কাছে। এখন অবদি তার কাছে
ক্ল্যাসিক্যাল তালিম অব্যাহত রেখেছেন। এর আগে ২০০১ এ নাজু প্রথমবারের মতো
নিজের সঞ্চিত মেধা নিয়ে শ্রোতাদের সম্মুখে উপস্হিত হন তার প্রথম একক
'কাঁচা হলুদের রঙ' অ্যালবামের মাধ্যম। সংগীতা থেকে প্রকাশিতএই অ্যালবামের
সুর ও সংগীতে ছিলেন মিল্টন খন্দকার। প্রথম অ্যালবামের পর নাজু সম্পূর্ণ
মনোনিবেশ করেন চলচ্চিত্রের প্লে-ব্যাক এর মধ্যে। ২০০১-এ উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক
শ্রেণীতে অধ্যায়ন কালেই নাজু প্রথম চলচ্চিত্রে আহমেদ ইমতিয়াজ বুলবুলের
সুরে গান করেন 'মায়ের সম্মান' ছবিতে কুমার বিশ্বজিৎ'র সাথে। সময়ের

বাপ্পা মজুমদার। বাদবাকী ছ'টির মধ্যে তিনটি করে সুর ও সংগীত করেছেন এস
পুলক ও রাজীব।
'স্বপ্নকন্যা' অ্যালবামের গানগুলি হচ্ছে- হাত বাড়ালে
যায় না ছোঁযা, চঞ্চলা এই মন, চোখে চোখে হয় যে কথা, চুপি চুপ, আরো একটি
আধার, প্রেম করে যে সে কি জানে, লোক নিন্দা, শুধু তুমি তুমি করে, বন্ধু
লইয়া যা মোরে, পাহাড় চূড়ায়, প্রাণ নাচে আজ এবং সুখের কারণ। অ্যালবাম
প্রসঙ্গে নাজু বলেন, 'মূলত মেলোডিয়াস গানকে আমি প্রাধাণ্য দিয়েছি।
শ্রুতিমধুর কিছু গান করার প্রত্যাশা আমার ছিল। বাণিজ্যিক মনোভাব নিয়ে যে
গানগুলো করা হয়েছে সেগুলো কিন্তু সস্তা কর্মাশিয়াল কোনো গান নয়। সমসাময়িক
প্রচলিত ধারাকে কিছুটা অনুকরণ করা হয়েছে মাত্র। অন্য এক প্রসঙ্গে তিনি
বলেন, 'চলচ্চিত্রে আমি সবসময়ই মেলোডিয়াস গান আমাকে করতে হয়নি। আমি সর্বশেষ
গান করেছি প্রয়াত আবদুল্লাহ আল মামুনের 'দুই বেয়ারের কীর্তি' ছবিতে চন্দন
